Welcome to My Web Site
Central Florida has been my home
since moving here with my family from Fairfield, Connecticut.
Winter Park was our destination in January, 1952 - we made it
safely after driving several days moving into our new 'pink'
house on Kings Way.
Currently my husband and I live
in what is known as the tourist capital of the world with Walt
Disney World and Sea World of Florida as well as Universal Studios
of Florida. My nickname is Duchess; thus the name of my website.
Interests include, but are not
limited to, cruise ships and web page support. I am retired
after working 39 years at the University of Central Florida.
At the time of retirement UCF was the 3rd largest university
in the country and the largest university in the State of Florida.
My husband and I spend our leisure hours cruising and traveling
the highways.
I enjoy endless hours with my
computer and the creation, design and support of personal and
small business web sites.
A web site I am particularly
proud of is one I created and maintain for a 5th grade class
in Rock Falls, Illinois. The web site, , is an online scrapbook of the adventures
of Elwood, the Dream Big stuffed character doll created in 1980
by Mr. Doug Hand, a 5th grade teacher. Elwood has traveled over
4.5 million miles around the world meeting people and bringing
back stories and memorabilia to his 'forever' 5th grade class.
I hope you find parts of my web
site interesting. I created it in 1996 and have updated it on
and off over the years.
